Welcome to the Ira Black House

This lovely, modest home was built in the early 1890's by Ira Black, a master carpenter who worked for many of the sardine canneries that were in operation  in Eastport in the late nineteenth century. We have carefully renovated this house to maintain as much period charm as possible while adding features such as a modern kitchen, baths and room designs that enhance the absolutely wonderful views of the bay and the Canadian islands.

If you are looking for a charming getaway that allows you to relax and enjoy the  peaceful beauty of coastal Maine, then The Ira Black house deserves your consideration.

What this house has to offer:                                       

• Smoke free environment. This a NO SMOKING HOUSE!

• Living room

• Sleeps 4-5 people with two bedrooms and a pull out loveseat in the living room

• 1 1/2 baths

• Fully equipped kitchen and dining area

• Small deck off of the kitchen with a gas grill

• TV/DVD and telephone

• Linens are provided

• Small pets are allowed                                                                                                      

• And one of the best views on the island from this hill top location

Rates:                                                                                                                  

• $650.00 / week in season, off season rates available

• Season: Memorial Day to Columbus Day

• Available for long weekends off season

• Deposit required with reservation, refundable up to one month before arrival

• Full payment must be received 14 days prior to arrival

• Check-in time is 3:00 pm Saturday                                                                           

• Check-out time is noon the following Saturday

Directions:

From U.S. 1, take Route 190 into Eastport  until it ends in downtown . Make a left turn on to Water Street and follow Water Street until you get to Wilson Street. Turn left on to Wilson Street and start up the hill; the very first left turn is Favor Street. Turn left on to Favor Street; the house is on the left just a few houses in at 5 Favor Street.
